Hospice and end-of-life care at home in Poway
When the time comes, your loved one doesn't have to move. They can stay in the home and room they know.
Ridgeview Gardens holds a hospice waiver from the California Department of Social Services. This means residents who go on hospice can stay right here with us, surrounded by familiar caregivers, their own belongings and their family.
We also welcome new residents who are already on hospice and need a calm, caring place for this season of life.
Working alongside your hospice team
Your family chooses the hospice agency. The hospice nurse, aide, social worker and chaplain visit and guide the medical side of comfort care. Our caregivers are here around the clock, 24 hours a day, to carry out the daily care: turning and positioning, personal care, mouth care, help with eating and drinking, and keeping the room peaceful and clean.
We follow the hospice care plan, give medications as ordered, and call the hospice team and family right away when something changes.

Comfort-focused care
Hospice care is about comfort, dignity and peace. We pay close attention to pain, breathing, skin and rest. We keep familiar routines where we can, play favorite music, and make sure no one feels alone. Because every bedroom is private, families have quiet space to be together.
Family is always welcome
During hospice, time with family matters most. Each bedroom has its own exterior door to the patio, so loved ones can come and go easily. Please talk with us about overnight stays or special visits, and we'll help however we can.
Cost of hospice care
